At Nathan Jones Law, we often tout ourselves as client advocates. Any law firm worth their salt would say the same.
When it comes to representing clients in the court of law, naturally, you want someone who truly has your best interest at heart. Being involved in a legal matter puts an individual in a rather vulnerable position. Oftentimes, it feels like you’re stranded on a foreign island, surrounded by people speaking a different language.
No matter your legal predicament, there’s an inherent amount of trust that you’re placing in your legal counsel to navigate you through this strange territory. You want to hire someone who upholds your trust and who values the ethics of their job assignment as equally as they do a successful outcome.
While a law firm claiming that they are advocates for their clients might seem like a simple statement on the surface, it actually contains a multitude of different meanings.
When we say it at Nathan Jones Law, here’s what we mean:
No ulterior motives
We’re not out to put on a big show or use your case to make a name for ourselves. Some bulldog attorneys will do this with very little to no benefit to your case, but will certainly add time and expenses to the case. We’ve written previously about why that’s not the best practice.
What our clients really need is someone who knows the when and where in terms of aggressiveness in court. Nathan Jones Law can enact the aggressive tactic when necessary, but always with the best interest of the client in mind.
Our law firm places the utmost importance on clear communication. We realize we are your interpreter when it comes to the world of law. That’s why we make a concerted effort to not only win your case, but ensure you understand the hows and whys in a relatable, approachable way. As we like to say, at Nathan Jones Law, we don’t speak “legalese” to our clients.
No sales tactics
It’s not enough to be approachable in this line of work. Not with people’s livelihoods on the line. Many law firms attract clients because they’re great salesmen, but at the end of the day, you have to know your stuff. We limit our practice areas for this exact reason. If you call in for something that’s not in our wheelhouse, we’ll refer you to the best resources available because we’re not comfortable selling you a helping hand unless we believe we can truly help. We refuse to spread ourselves too thin, for both of our sakes.
